Bullets and Belles Town Halls and Referendum

There are a number of heated issues that the town leadership have decided need additional attention. In order to hear such grievances, the town’s leadership is hosting a couple of Soapbox Debates. Additionally, there have been a number of recent issues that have caused the Northern and Southern governments to call for popular elections on a couple of matters as well, one being the election vs. the appointment of a governor for Mississippi.

Soapbox Debates

There will be a couple of Soapbox Debates through the course of the weekend. The topics for the debates will be posted in advance and persons with general cause, care, concern, and/or evidence may sign up in one of the available Soapbox Debate slots. Speaker spaces are limited so it is important to choose the representative of your causes well.

Soapbox Debate #1: Reparations

The North has appointed governors and bureaucrats to collect reparation monies for all landowners who own more than 12 parcels of land in the South. The amount of money being charged has been declared as exorbitant and unfairly distributed. The town is willing to hear 5 arguments, the strongest of which they will present to the governor as the towns position on how to proceed with the reparations.

Soapbox Debate #2: Ghost Rock

Ghost Rock has been identified as a naturally occurring commodity. It is being sought after by many. The town of Rodney has recently identified a Ghost Rock deposit and the town is trying to weigh the benefits of ghost rock vs. the danger of the substance. The town is soliciting for public opinions regarding this topic. Each speaker is given 5 minutes to speak and offer evidence to support their position.

Soapbox Debate #3: Women and Magic

Magic has been considered a privilege of white men for hundreds of years. It has also become known and widely accepted that persons of color, both men and women, are able to perform acts of magic as well. The town would like to hear arguments for and against “Awakening” women as magicians. Each speaker is given 5 minutes to speak and offer evidence to support their position.

Referendum

The Confederate Government has been successful in their negotiations with the Union. As a result of these negotiations, the Union and Confederacy are putting multiple issues before the population. There will be a ballot available on Sunday, and ALL LANDOWNERS are welcome and invited to participate in the referendum to act as the voice of Rodney on all of these matters.

Anyone caught tampering with the election or actively prohibiting others to vote will be issued a fine of $75 as the importance of this referendum is great.
