UFO Sightings

H.G. Wells published War of the Worlds in 1897. It was a spectacular science fiction thriller that talked of invaders from space coming to take over and destroy the planet. Prior to 1897, there had been only 18 UFO sightings recorded in the United States.

In 1938, Orson Wells, in conjunction with the On Air Mercury Theatre, broadcast a version of War of the Worlds that was aired across the country. The decade after this program aired there were 147 UFO sightings. The majority of these UFO sightings have occurred near Mt. Rainier in Washington State. Even State Senators are among the list of those reporting skyward phenomena!

Some can attribute the sharp rise in sightings to hysteria incited by Mr. Wells’s broadcast. However, the American population became more informed about the ever present and looming danger that these aliens present. Americans became more aware and vigilant and they began to watch the skies and report what they were finding. From 1948 to today, in 1963, there have been an additional 886 sightings. People are concerned and they want answers.

The Federal Government has founded NASA, an Agency dedicated to looking at and studying space. They aren’t sharing any of their findings with American citizens though. They are hiding behind the FBI and CIA. They have constructed secret bases in California and Nevada and they are doing whatever they can to hide the truth about aliens away from the population.
