I have sampled beer that has been imported from England, Jamaica, Brazil, and other countries from around the world. I had never sampled a beer from Asia and an opportunity presented itself to sample a beer from Thailand. I tried out a light golden lager from Singha.
The beer-ista described it as being more similar to a pilsner- even though the bottle says Lager. That’s dang confusing. If you read the label and compare it to other lagers- it lacks richness, it lacks flavor, it lacks body. However- if you listen to the beer-ista and compare it to a pilsner- then its comparable. Its got a bright light flavor profile that’s smooth and easy to drink. I don’t remember it having a terribly high alcohol content so you could likely polish off a few too many of these more quickly than you might like.
Ultimately, I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase this one. It just didn’t have a complex or interesting flavor to me.
