Experience is used to advance characters, just like in any tabletop game and most campaign style LARPs. In D&D characters earn xp for defeating hard monsters. In a number of LARP campaigns, XP is earned based on attendance/money spent. The rulebook has some suggestions about XP. I have taken all of these sources into consideration and I have come up with my own plan for Timekeepers.
(Limited) There will be a monthly limit set for how many participants are eligible to earn this XP. The STs will make an effort to allow different people to take advantage of these points at different times so XP is not monopolized by some players creating a power vacuum for some characters.
Most people will be earning 1-3 points per event. Progression will be slow. After we play a few games and I get more comfortable, I may modify either the costs for certain XP spends or I may increase the XP awards to players.
